Avon Valley Inn "Top Pub" Gloucester. Chicken Schnitzel with mushroom gravy and chips and salad. The best part was the chunky ass mushrooms in the gravy, yum!

The chicken schnitzel with a side of mash and mushroom gravy was chosen as the lunch special. I and a fellow person both had this choice and comparison of our respective photos (only one posted so far) indicates the presentation of mine (see photo) was far more prettier. I thought it odd that there was several layers of mini-sized schnitzels piled on top of the mash (very interesting look), but I think after consuming the lot, I think the smaller pieces make you feel fuller by the end of it, and less cutting involved. Above average tasting schnitzel, just enough gravy, which was yummy. Mash was too creamy for my taste. I give it 3 stars out of 5.

Canterbury-Hurlstone Park
Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL
Date: 9th of December 2007
Type: Chicken
Price: Not sure..... possibly about$10
With: chips and salad
Well! It did the trick as far as satisfying my craving for something fattening was concerned. The chips were brilliant.... however, the schnitzel was quite sub-par. It was fairly tasteless and the chicken itself seemed to be floating around within the layer of crumbs. Very odd.
Note: cheap beer.

Glasgow Schnitzel
Staff restaurant, BBC Scotland, Pacific Quay, Glasgow.
Date: December 4th, 2007
Price: £4.10
Type: Pork
With: Apple sauce, sautée potatoes, red cabbage, mixed salad
£10 note for comparison, because I'd just used my £20 to buy my lunch. It's worth over AU$20, though.
A pretty big hunk of meat - I nearly had trouble finishing it. Done just right, and very tasty too. Nicely done potatoes, but the apples were a bit on the sour side, and the red cabbage was a little dry.

The Austrian Schnitzelhaus
The Austrian Schnitzelhaus, Victoria Rd, Gladesville
Date: 29th of November, 2007
Type: Chicken
Price: $19.00
With: pepper sauce, chips and salad.
Review: This actually wasn't my meal, so i can't tell you how good it was. Although, what I did eat, which was the Zigeuner Schnitzel (Gypsey Schnitzel = Not crumbed, topped with a spicy paprika, capsicum & onion sauce. Served with sauteed potatoes), was pretty awesome. It was the same size as the specimen pictured, was a good quality piece of meat and was a nice change from your usual crumbed schnitzel. Of course, not as big as they come, but as the waiter pointed out.... it's not the size that matters.
